The Business
Our Technology and Administration Solutions business provides benefits administration and outsourcing solutions to many of the world’s leading organizations. Our comprehensive, state of the art defined benefit and health welfare outsourcing services and HR service technologies help clients save money and improve service delivery while freeing Human Resources to make strategic contributions to the business. The Role
As a Business Analyst you will contribute to the implementation of new services and practice the fundamentals of systems analysis, design and testing. You will also consult on implementation best practices and provide ongoing technical support. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical, analytical, problem solving, leadership, communication and consulting skills. Note that this role may involve occasional travel to other Towers Watson offices. Location: San Diego, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Mt Laurel NJ.
Performance Objectives:
Excellence
Provide value added consulting to internal clients based on outsourcing implementation best practices
Identify technology business needs as they relate to new implementations as well as enhancements to current outsourcing service
Analyze, define and document project requirements and business processes
Develop systems specifications, process flow and conversion strategies
Create technical and functional user documentation
Develop test plans
Perform unit and comprehensive testing for overall functionality and technical quality of deliverables
Provide ongoing technical support to internal clients:
Trouble shoot technical issues and problems
Define and update system tables as needed
Ensure systems perform according to client approved specifications
Contribute to the development of new tools, processes and solutions to meet our clients’ outsourcing needs
Follow firm and line of business processes, protocols and quality standards in the deployment of solutions
People
Partner and communicate effectively in a team environment with other team members
Participate in local, regional and national meetings as requested
Clients
Contribute to successful project management:
Monitor progress against project plan and communicate status to project manager, as appropriate
Develop a trusted advisor relationship through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
Attend meetings as appropriate to report project status
Directly contribute projects’ success through applying your expertise
Financial
Work within prescribed budget for project plans
The Requirements
2-3 years experience as a Business Analyst
Functional or industry knowledge/experience in the application of technology to solve human resource needs such as: Health and welfare plan administration, HR self-service (IVR, web, etc.), HR systems integration, HR shared services or HRIS/payroll
Prior experience as a business analyst in a consulting environment preferred
Experience with relational databases including SQL, Oracle or Access preferred
Experience with test plan creation, testing procedures and test plan execution preferred
Strong analytical, integrative and problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid interpersonal skills and client service orientation
Ability to work both independently and on teams, including virtual work teams with members in different geographic regions
Strong organizational abilities and flexibility to work managing multiple project priorities
Sense of accountability, owning one’s work and taking pride in it; commitment to quality and continuous improvement
Desire to learn, accept new challenges, and have fun
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, management information systems, or related field
Ability to travel and work extended hours as needed
