SUMMARY:
The Associate’s role is to be directly linked to learning and embracing Initiative’s way of working: FBDS. The Associate will assist the Strategy team in creating integrated media solutions that deliver on our clients’ business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learn about the agency, our clients and our people
Help build holistic communications plans by working closely with consumer and media strategists as well as investment specialists
Use qualitative and quantitative research to develop consumer insights, channel roles, budget allocations, and begin to develop analytical skills
Develop a working knowledge of the client’s goals, guidelines and strategies
Become an expert in your client’s products and their consumer
Compile research and competitive data that will be submitted to planning teams and clients to ensure client is reaching target audience
Learn to utilize syndicated sources/programs and master media math
Develop tactical components of client media campaigns, such as flow charts, spreadsheets, and budget summaries
Work collaboratively with other strategists to craft RFPs and brief Investment team on insights and strategies
Proactively seek out mentorship and learning from other Discipline leaders at Initiative (Investment, Analytics, Business Leadership)
Attend company events and department wide meetings
Proactively join company committees
Oversee and coordinate resolution of billing and discrepancies within designated timeframe.
Participate in team brainstorming sessions
Handle day-to-day client requests
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required with related coursework in advertising, marketing, and/or communications
0-1 year media planning/buying experience (internship strongly preferred)
Proficiency with Microsoft programs, especially Excel and Powerpoint
Ability to communicate concisely and clearly, both written and oral
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Proven ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team
Detail-oriented, organized, conscientious, with the ability to multi-task and work well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
