The Sr. Group Manager (Social Media) will lead the planning and execution of social media campaigns as well as oversee and guide a team social media professionals in paid social media campaign management, organic content development and community management. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced digital communications professional to develop cutting-edge lifestyle marketing campaigns, policy change efforts, and advertising campaigns for social causes that matter. Our clients include public health agencies on the state and federal level with a growing emphasis on supporting foundations and private companies who engage in behavior change efforts.

Position Description:
The Sr. Group Manager (Social Media) reports to the Sr. Director (Integrated Marketing Strategies), and leads the management and maintenance of project timelines and workflow, as well as guides both paid and organic social media strategy from start to finish. Daily work will include managing a team of social media strategists as well as coordinating with project managers, department leads, and the integrated marketing strategy team; developing strategic plans; analyzing social media trends and conversations; implementing and monitoring cross-channel social media strategies, such as user-generated campaigns and online events; creating new social media profiles for clients; and integrating social media into larger communications plans.


The job of the Sr. Group Manager (Social Media) entails activities pertaining to, but not limited to:


Social Media Management:
Oversee all phases of social media project planning, research, design, content development, execution, and ongoing analysis;


Collaborate with our internal teams (integrated marketing strategy, client services, and creative) to strengthen social media offerings to clients when merged with services such as paid digital advertising, website development, live events, or influencer activities;


Communicate directly with clients to explain social media plans, obtain proper approvals, and constantly showcase optimization efforts to improve campaign effectiveness;


Maximize impact of ad spend by analyzing performance of paid social campaigns and provide optimization guidance to reach performance goals;


Drive all social media reporting across both paid and organic to showcase campaign results and optimization efforts; and


Collaborate with creative teams to guide the development of compelling social media content that is in alignment with best practices.


Employee Supervision:
Successfully lead and mentor teams specializing in organic social media/community management (located in Atlanta and LA) and paid social media (located in San Diego);


Hire, train, manage and evaluate performance of social media staff; and


Develop and promote best practices for campaign development, implementation and reporting.


Other:
Represent Rescue SCG at conferences; and


Other duties as required.


Candidate Requirements


Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree +4 years relevant experience OR 9 years relevant experience OR Master’s Degree +2 years relevant experience;


Experience developing and leading the execution of social media plans and strategies;


Strong technical knowledge of digital marketing and social networks;


Experience writing and presenting social media strategies to clients in a clear and compelling way;


Extensive experience managing campaigns across social media platforms — Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Tumblr, Snapchat, and blogs;


Proficiency with social media management tools like Simply Measured, Tracx, Hootsuite, and paid tools like Social Code or Kinetic;


Proven project and team management experience;


Knowledge of market research and communications planning;


Proven ability to work across multiple teams (creative, web, client service) in the production of a final work product;


Proven ability to excel in high-stress, fast-paced environments;


Proven ability to communicate with clients on delicate matters; and


Positive, enthusiastic “self-starter” attitude with a strong desire to meet goals and commitments.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with youth/young adult campaigns;


Experience with campaigns focused on youth sub-cultures (Hip Hop, Metal/Hardcore, Rural/Country, LGBT, etc.);


Experience with public health campaigns; and


Non-tobacco-use is highly preferred because we only have tobacco-free environments and also to be consistent with our tobacco prevention campaign goals.


Environment:
Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and computer and Internet access. Must be available to work non-traditional hours such as late nights and weekends. All business-related environments are tobacco-free.


Physical Requirements:
Able to remain in a sitting position for prolonged periods of time and stoop, bend, reach, climb stairs, and move freely throughout the building for the performance of duties. Able to read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours at a time including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources. Able to travel nationwide as needed to meet with clients, coworkers, or attend meetings and seminars.


Travel:
Once per month.


Training:
A comprehensive training would be provided to the selected candidate. The training will be conducted at a Rescue SCG office and paid for by RSCG.

Salary/Status:
FT Exempt Position. Salary Based on Salary History, Experience and Education Level.
